This explains what personal data zauna collects, why, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who is responsible
The data controller is zauna, Unit 4.07 The Tea Building, 56 Shoreditch High Street, London, E1 6JJ, United Kingdom. Contact us about privacy at hello@zauna.co.uk.
What we collect and why
- Your account: your email address and the saunas and suppliers you save, so you can sign in and see your list. Legal basis: providing the service you asked for (contract).
- Sign-in codes: we store only a scrambled version of each code, kept for a short time to stop misuse.
- Quote requests and messages: your name, email, phone, postcode and project details. We send them to the suppliers you're matched with (up to three) so they can reply. Legal basis: your request (contract) and our legitimate interest in running the service.
- Listing claims and updates: details you give us about your business and your contact email. Legal basis: contract and legitimate interest.
- Business contact checks: to confirm a listing, we may email a business at an address published on its own website. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Tapping "No" stops further emails.
- Reports: if you report a problem with a listing, your message and optional email.
- Site analytics: pages viewed, searches made on zauna and links clicked, with the type of site you came from. We don't store your IP address or use this to identify you.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential storage to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie choice. Maps may set cookies from their provider when you use them. You can change your choice using the cookie banner.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We use trusted providers who process it for us under contract: our hosting and database provider, Brevo (email sending), map providers (Google Maps or OpenStreetMap), and Google Analytics to count visits, only if you accept analytics cookies. Suppliers receive your details only when you ask for quotes or message them. Some providers may process data outside the UK, protected by UK-approved safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Account and saved items: until you delete your account.
- Quote requests and messages: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Sign-in codes: deleted or unusable after 10 minutes, cleared regularly.
- Listing check emails: up to 2 years after the last reply.
- Analytics: kept in summary form; it contains no personal data.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your data, object to or limit how we use it, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email hello@zauna.co.uk and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
zauna is not aimed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top.
