Along the coast, Dorset has beachside cabins, Brighton has wood-fired saunas on the beach, and Fife has harbour-side saunas. Inland, Pool Bridge Farm and The Lakes at Lavender Hall offer lakeside settings. Bookings range from shared seats to private hire and guided experiences. Facilities vary, and swimming arrangements need a separate check before you visit.
Dorset, from the dunes to Lulworth Cove
Across its four Dorset locations, The Saltwater Sauna offers quite different coastal settings. Boscombe SAUNA HOUSE centres on communal bathing and guided rituals. At Sandbanks, cabins sit beside the dunes; Avon Beach has beachside saunas with panoramic views. Lulworth Cove has a single sauna overlooking the cove.
Bookings cover private, communal and guided sessions. A private booking gives your group exclusive use, while a communal session means sharing with other visitors. Capacities vary, so check the individual location details if you are booking for a group.
Finnish sauna traditions, Nordic botanicals and the Dorset coast inform the guided experiences. Communal rituals take place at Boscombe SAUNA HOUSE, while private guided rituals are available on enquiry.

Beach Box on Brighton Beach
Beach Box is a wood-fired public sauna spa with four saunas, each different in size and design. Leil is a converted horsebox with seats for six. An aspen-lined interior and an ocean view distinguish the eight-seat Löyly, while the cedar-built Lotta seats nine and has panoramic sea views.
For a smaller private visit, Pirtis seats two and has an indoor rest area. It is not available as a shared sauna.
There are changing rooms and drinking water, with outdoor seating and a fire pit for time out of the heat. Alongside cold showers, a bucket shower, an ice bath, a plunge pool and a slipper bath offer alternatives to a sea dip.
Face masks, salt scrubs and aromatherapy ice balls are also available. For a hosted experience, a private sauna master can lead steam and leaf-whisking sessions.
By the harbour in Fife and the promenade in Tynemouth
Elie Seaside Sauna sits on the dunes at Elie Harbour in the East Neuk of Fife. Its Original sauna occupies a converted horse trailer lined with heat-treated aspen and seats six. Whole-sauna hire is listed at £96 for an hour or £192 for two hours. Sessions include 10 minutes for changeover and cleaning.
Beside it, The Harbourmaster seats 12 communally and up to 14 for private bookings. Individual seats are listed at £16 per hour. A cooling deck, direct beach access and cold showers sit alongside the sauna. Harbour parking is very limited, especially in summer, so the operator suggests arriving on foot or by bike where possible.
Further south in Tynemouth, Steam and Salt has two Nordic-inspired, wood-fired saunas on the lower promenade at the south end of Longsands beach, near the disused outdoor pool. You can book sauna seats through its website.

Lakeside heat in York and Warwickshire
At Pool Bridge Farm in York, sauna sessions take place beside M Lake. Its own sauna page lists five wood-fired saunas. That differs from The Girl Outdoors guide, which describes two converted shepherd’s-hut saunas; this guide follows the venue’s five-sauna description.
Alongside individual tickets in a group sauna and private bookings, Pool Bridge Farm offers tranquil and female-only sessions. Blue Yonder has a panoramic lake window and two-tier seating, with space for eight individual-ticket guests or 10 on a private booking. Sky View has glass roof panels and accommodates eight for either format.
In Warwickshire, The Lakes at Lavender Hall has two four-metre wood-fired saunas beside the lake. Sauna-only bookings cost £12 on weekdays and £14 at weekends. With swimming access included, Sauna & Dip costs £16 on weekdays or £18 at weekends. There is a fire pit and a café too.
Planning your visit
Decide first if you want a seat in a shared session or the whole sauna for your group. Check swimming arrangements separately from sauna facilities, particularly at the inland venues. Lavender Hall requires every swimmer to use a tow float, available to buy or hire.
Both inland venues have a minimum age of 16. Pool Bridge Farm requires visitors aged 16–17 to attend with a parent or guardian; Lavender Hall applies the same requirement to anyone under 18.
Designated changing areas are available at both. Lavender Hall also lists free parking. It recommends bringing a towel, robe and water bottle, plus swimming kit and a tow float if you plan to swim.
