Sauna accessories range from buckets and ladles for adding water to hot stones to instruments that show temperature and humidity. Lighting, backrests and cleaning products are also available. Before you choose, check what comes in the package. Some bucket sets include a humidity gauge, while a fibre-optic bundle may need a separate light engine.
Buckets and ladles for steam
Renu Therapy and Almost Heaven describe the bucket and ladle as part of a traditional sauna setup. Adding water to hot sauna stones with the ladle produces steam and increases humidity. Almost Heaven calls this steam löyly. Each supplier offers a package with a measuring instrument alongside the bucket and ladle.
Oceanic sells wooden buckets and ladles too, as well as broader accessory packs. Their contents are not detailed, so you cannot assume they match the named bucket-and-ladle packages. Look past labels such as standard or deluxe and check the individual items included.
Gauges that show humidity as well as temperature
Both the Renu Therapy and Almost Heaven packages combine a thermometer with a hygrometer. Although their titles mention a thermometer, the descriptions confirm that the instruments display humidity too, with temperature readings in Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Almost Heaven describes its chrome thermometer/hygrometer in more detail: a heat-resistant metal frame with a glass front. Those specifications apply to that package, not to sauna thermometers generally.
If you want both measurements, check the description rather than relying on the product title. Neither supplier gives accuracy figures here, so there is no basis for saying which instrument is more precise.
From shaded wall lamps to fibre optics
Oceanic lists a sauna wall lamp and shade for £60. With a veneer shade, the listed price is £68. Its warm white accent lighting kit costs £125, while the colour change version is £175. A sauna fibre-optic kit is listed at £850.
These are different lighting formats, not interchangeable versions of the same light. You can narrow your choice by the type of lighting you want, but full kit contents are not given in the catalogue.
SaunaShop also describes fibre-optic sauna lighting. Flexible optical fibres carry the light, and the lighting points remain cool. Use a qualified electrician for electrical work.
A fibre bundle still needs a light engine
Stellar Lighting’s outdoor, under-floor and sauna fibre-optic bundle starts at £99. A compatible light engine must be added separately, so this is not the price of a complete lighting system.
Inside the bundle are 60 end-glow fibres. It comes in medium and long versions, with 20 fibres at each length. Medium bundles use lengths of 2, 3 and 4 metres; long bundles use 6, 8 and 10 metres.
Before setting this price against Oceanic’s fibre-optic kit, check the scope of each listing. Matching contents have not been established, and headline prices alone leave out an important part of what you are buying.
Accessory packs and other additions
Oceanic’s standard sauna accessory pack is listed at £95, with the Loyly Deluxe Sauna Accessory Pack at £165. Neither pack has a contents list in the extract. High-temperature Bluetooth speakers are also listed, at £210, but there are no specifications beyond the product name.
Elsewhere in Oceanic’s range are categories for sauna fragrances and cleaning products, along with timber protection and handcrafted gifts. A category name only goes so far: fragrances, for example, does not tell you which scents are available or how to use a particular product. Individual cleaning and timber-care products are not described, and no care instructions are given.
Almost Heaven’s related products include a cedar backrest and individual bottles of essential oils. It also lists a double robe hook, plus floor kits for barrel and indoor saunas.
Questions people ask
- What is included in a bucket, ladle and thermometer package?
- Renu Therapy and Almost Heaven each include a bucket and ladle with a combined thermometer/hygrometer. You can read temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit and monitor humidity on the same instrument.
- What is löyly?
- Löyly is the term Almost Heaven uses for steam produced by adding water to hot sauna stones. Its bucket-and-ladle package is intended for this traditional sauna use.
- How much do the listed sauna lights cost?
- Oceanic’s listed prices run from £60 for a wall lamp and shade to £850 for a fibre-optic kit. Accent lighting options sit between them, with individual prices given in the lighting section. These prices cover different product formats, not equivalent kits.
- Does Stellar Lighting’s fibre bundle include a light engine?
- No. You need to add a compatible light engine separately. The starting price covers the fibre bundle, rather than a complete lighting system.
- Are cleaning and timber-care products classed as sauna accessories?
